A free day out in Sidmouth

Plenty of Sidmouth’s best bits cost nothing. Start with rock pooling at Jacob’s Ladder beach, climb the steps to Connaught Gardens, then follow the River Sid through The Byes.

In the afternoon, head to The Donkey Sanctuary, which has free entry and free parking, or walk a stretch of the South West Coast Path. Pack a picnic and finish with sunset on the Esplanade.
